Man City have confirmed they paid £17 million to release Enzo Maresca from his contract with Chelsea . The Italian manager has signed a three-year contract and will lead the Etihad Stadium side from next season.
Maresca is no stranger to Man City. He previously led the U21 team to two Premier League titles in 2020-2021 and served as Pep Guardiola's assistant during the team's historic treble-winning season. The 46-year-old then went on to achieve success with Leicester City and Chelsea before returning to Manchester.
According to experts, taking over Man City will be a huge challenge for Maresca, given Pep Guardiola's immense legacy. In his 10 years managing the team, the Spanish strategist won 20 major titles, including six Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League.
